Way back when my brother and I were kids, our mother would keep us distracted on long drives by telling us to watch for cars bearing license plates from other places. We became so enthusiastic about it that we kept a list in the glove compartment so we could record which provincial or state plate we had seen, often adding details such as the colours or designs of unique and different ones.
In case you were unaware, back in those days annual license plate renewal stickers were extremely rare, so year after year most provinces and states would routinely change the design or colour of their plates. After a few years, when our list had grown to over 164 entries we had to replace our neatly folded piece of paper with a small notebook. I remember during one summer afternoon's drive through Stanley Park we spotted a license plate from Hawaii. To this day I still wonder how long that drive had taken them!
This puzzle is loosely based on those childhood memories, but I wanted to throw a twist your way. I thought it would be more difficult and much more interesting if I was to tweak the puzzle to reflect the name of this geocache. Back in those “olden” days, vanity license plates were unheard of so I have taken the liberty of updating the collection shown below. I hope you enjoy this puzzle and the geocache location as well.
Reminder: There is no need to visit the posted coordinates, unless you are hoping to potentially add more foreign license plates to your list!
