Geocache Description:

If the gate is closed, the State Police Dept. have said we may park next door in their parking lot.  If the gate is open, there is ample parking at the Arboretum.

Mr. Skyrman passed away September 9, 2010 and this property was donated to the City of Central Point with the stipulation that it be used as an arboretum to provide for educational programs for youth around the region and for public enjoyment.

The site is unique in that Mr. Skyrman's father planted a variety of shrubs and every tree species native to Oregon, including the largest  "Gray Pine" tree in the state.

The property includes two structures, a log cabin the family built to celebrate the Bicentennial in 1976, and the Skyrman home.  The arboretum is still being renovated, but it is still a delightful area to visit!  ENJOY!
