How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
This cache is on an island in Algonquin Park. The island is about 500 metres from the shore where you can rent a canoe if necessary. The coordinates of the rental site/canoe launching site are : N 45.34.721 W 78.29.888. The canoeing is excellent in this lake and the swimming is great off this island. ALTHOUGH THE TERRAIN DIFFICULTY IS 5, IT IS ACTUALLY NOT NEARLY THAT TOUGH - NEED A CANOE via the Lake of Two Rivers Campground or Killarney Lodge (if you are a guest).
****Just a note to all new seekers of this cache. Provincial Parks is no longer allowing caches in the parks. This and any others in the park are "grandfathered" in. The previous owner couldn't care for the cache any more and didn't want it to disappear, thus GearMan and I adopted it to keep it going. Between the two of us we get up to the park once or twice a year. Since we have taken this cache on, this is the second time it has been muggled. We are both experienced cachers and know how to hide a cache to prevent muggles from finding it.
That said... I stress for anyone seeking this or ANY cache that they rehide the cache as they found it or better. I would hate to see our enjoyable sport ruined due to careless cachers that forget that others are following them to find the caches they found.
This cache is located on a beautiful island with an awesome view. After being asked to adopt the cache shortly after we did it as our 1000th cache find, Gear Man and us decided to take on this great cache hide.
The cache is placed in an easily accessible location but just out of sight to prevent muggles from disturbing it. PLEASE REPLACE AS YOU FOUND IT OR BETTER!
This cache has recently been adopted by its third family - WORKPRESS adopted this cache in May 2016 as a present for there sons 8th Birthday! Happy Birthday Henry!!!!!
