Geocache Description:

When fire devastated the church of Almás (currently Aljmaš) in 1846, not only the construction of a new church was urgent, but also to house the survived holly picture and to be able to continue receiving a large number of pilgrims. For this purpose, the narrow valley where the picture was hidden after the fire, was chosen and a chapel was built. A spring was discovered while digging the foundations, serving the pilgrims ever since.
Lindens were planted around the chapel and this gave the place its unofficial name: Virgin Mother under Linden, and its nickname: "Lippi", coming from the Croatian word lipa (linden).
In 1916 Mudrovčić, a shipowner from Buda, suffered a shipwreck on the Danube, near Almás. His wife was praying to the Mary of Almás for his life and vowed that if he survived she would have an ornate dress of expensive cloth sawn for the Mary statue in the chapel. He survived. After that several beautiful dresses were made for the statue.
Between 1972-75 the valley was widened and a new chapel was erected. Unfortunately, this was also destroyed in 1991 and the statue disappeared. The new chapel, rather an open-air altar was built in 1999.

The GPS signal is very weak here, so if your GPS does not cooperate, don't get frustrated, just read the hint!
