Welcome to Charlton Village, and the village sign.
The coordinates will bring you to the sign where you need to look at it and identify the bird that is shown.
Take the first four letters of the name of the bird and call these A, B, C, and D, giving each one the number of the position of the letter in the alphabet. In the case of 2 digit position use the final digit only.
For example if the bird shown is a peacock, the first 4 letters are PEAC, therefore
P=16th letter of the alphabet so A = 6
E=5th letter of the alphabet so B = 5 etc.
Now substitute the numbers in the following you get into the following formula to ind the cache
N51 24. (B+D)(C+D) B W000 26.(A-B)(D-B-C)(A-C)
You are looking for a micro container containing a logbook only, so please bring your own pen.
Happy Hunting
If anybody would like to expand the Village Sign Series, please do. I would ask that you let Smokeypugs; know first at www.villagesignseries.co.uk; so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
