Have you heard about the Mildura Eco Village? It seems to be a hidden treasure that many locals don't even know exists! The Mildura Eco Village is hidden at the end of Scherger Drive (AKA the Mildura landfill driveway) and is home to a display Eco House, education center, community garden beds, kids area and mud kitchen and winning entries from the annual Trash2Art competition.
The Eco Village hosts monthly working bees and food swap days and with another one just around the corner we felt it would be a great chance for the local Geocaching community to come explore this hidden treasure while lending a hand.
Jobs for this working bee will be updated at a date closer to the event, but past working bee tasks have included jobs such as:
*Pulling out dead shrubs in the garden beds
*Trimming the rosemary and grape vines
*Cleaning the Eco house and Education Centre.
Parking is available right at the Eco Village gate.
When you arrive make your way through the entry gate and then over to the metal seating to your right where we'll gather before joining the members of the Eco Village to participate in the working bee.
Bring along your smile, hat, water bottle, sturdy shoes and a pair of gardening gloves if you have a pair.
There will be a take home gift for a lucky cacher who attends this event.
