#6 in the Nancy Drew series, the title of this one probably considerably understates reality - I'm sure there are hundreds of steps in this trail on the way to the top. But this trail, as it is a switchback, is much easier than going straight up.....and the view from the high saddle is definitely one that is worth the effort. Plus there's a "Kaboom" cache up there!
I've hiked up to the high pass many times, but I didn't on this outing to place the cache, since we are in a sweltering hot spell, and I had Chevygirl's Lab with me. She was about to pass out from heat prostration, so before I set up the cache, I took her to the creek and had her lie down, and splashed her till she was soaked! Thus relieved, she was able to come up with me and help with the hide!
The cache can be found on the downhill side of a huge boulder along the trail which will lead you to the top. I put some fairly hefty rocks on the container to avert depredation by those pesky ground squirrels and marmots - please replace as you found it. I launched a TB in the cache, and left a FTF gift of a 10$ gift card for nice, icy coffee drinks at my favorite coffee place, Perkup in Palmer!
