Geocache Description:

Virtual cache located near the Albany International Airport. You can drive right up to the plaque/cache with your automobile.

There is a plaque on the boulevard at the above coordinates for you to find, which gives information concerning a certain individual.

This cache recognizes a WWII hero who fought overwhelming odds to help save his company from defeat near Kalterherberg, Germany in December of 1944. This Capital District Technical Sergeant was later captured by the Germans and imprisoned for six months. He returned to the Capital District and eventually became a member of the New York State Senate.

This cache is listed to honor this American hero, but I hope you will keep in mind all those that served/are serving in the United States military, as well.

To gain credit for this cache, please email me the following information:
1) The name of the Technical Sergeant
2) The medal he received for his heroic efforts
3) The number of terms he served in the NY State Senate

This parking area is a great location to watch planes take off and land at the Albany International Airport. Enjoy!
