The trail for this cache is paved. If the Forest Service gate is open there is almost no hiking (it is usually closed). If it is closed it is a steep paved uphill climb that can be accomplished in less than one hour round trip.
Note: Not available in the winter months. From Kings Beach take Hwy 28 toward Incline Village. Turn left on to Reservoir Dr. after the stateline just past the Biltmore Casino parking lot. Follow Reservoir Dr. until it dead ends in front of a private drive. Turn right on to Lakeview Drive. (You'll see a "Fire Lookout" sign on your left). Follow Lakeveiw until you see the Fire Lookout gate on your left. You may have to park here. There is parking just pass the gate on the right hand side of the road. Do not block the gate or the driveway across from it. If the gate is open follow the road up to the lookout(it is usually closed).
The coordinates listed are not the actual coordinates of the cache. Follow them to one of the signs on the interpertive trail where you will see a picture of a granite longitude marker ingraved with a year. (don't use the longitude number of 120) Use the last two digits of the year to solve the following:

When placed the amno can contained: A frisbee, skateboard game, pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, smokey the bear coloring books, camera, travel bug, geocach info sheet, log book, tahoe rim trail map and 5 one dollar coins. Please only take one of the coins. Happy Hunting.
