Geocache Description:

Gbr : Salicorne is a so-called halophilic plant (which likes salt). Its root is firmly anchored in the soil. It is recognized by its cylindrical branches full of water, its fleshy and translucent stem, without apparent leaves (it looks like scales) and its tiny flowers. It is an edible plant that contains a salty juice.

It grows in "les Sansouires" (surfaces regularly flooded by the ponds they border), environments particularly rich in salt. The plants and the fauna that develop there are particularly well adapted to these conditions. This is the case, for example, of Salicorne, Obione or Soude.
