The lock of the Moulin de la Roche

Since the Middle Ages, a dam existed at a place called rock.

He assured the operation of two mills: The new mill, on the right bank, the mill of the rock on the left bank.

During the canalization of the river, in the second half of the 19th century, a new dam with a lock was built

200 meters downstream from the old.

Only the second mill was rebuilt. It was located between the lock and the sluice

(opening in the dike or in a dam to allow the flow of water and was accessible by a swing bridge.

In 1907, his two stone wheels were replaced by two double roll mills.

In 1942, the mill ceased activity and in 1971 it was largely destroyed by a fire.

Its former dependencies were transformed into a dwelling house.

In 1959, a micro-power station was installed on the dam.

A bread oven is located in the garden of the lock house.

You are looking for a cylindrical container here.

It does not contain a pencil but a logbook identifying the cache.

If you want to go to the lock n ° 5 of Boussard, it is about 1km distant.

Have fun and good geocaching.
