Meeting Point: The Enchanted Place (Published coordinates)

Teddy Bears' Picnic

Where else could we hold the traditional event other than the home of Winnie the Pooh?
Gill's Lap (Galleons Leap in the books) was noted as a good place for picnics because "being enchanted, its floor was not like the floor of the forest, gorse and bracken and heather, but close-set grass, quiet and smooth and green. It was the only place in the Forest where you could sit down carelessly, without getting up again almost at once and looking for somewhere to sit."
Ashdown Forest covers a large area of the Sussex Weald and is a good place for walking and exploring in the fashion employed by Christopher Robin and his friends in A.A. Milne's classic novels. There are a few geocaching trails, though none run past the event location.
Please use the car parks Gill's Lap and Gill's Lap North, if they are full, the event location can be reached from the much smaller Piglet's Car Park, but the path is much steeper and space there is extremely limited.

Competition

We will have several categories in which the cuddly toy of your choice can compete.

1) Best toy exhibited by a child under 5
2) Toy with the most expressive eyes
3) Best dressed toy
4) Toy wth the most fur loved off
5) Toy the judges would most like to take home

Submissions for cateogry 1 must be made by an under 5 present at the event. All toys entered by under 5s are eligible in all categories. All others will be judged in 2-5 only. Prizes will be awarded in each category.
The judges' decisions are final!

Winnie the Pooh

"Come on!"
"Where?" said Pooh.
"Anywhere." said Christopher Robin.
So, they went off together. But wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing.”

A.A. Milne, The House at Pooh Corner
