GIFF Week is your opportunity to watch all the films that made the final of the 2019 Geocaching International Film Festival. From 7th to 17th November 2019 geocachers all over the world are hosting geocaching events where these films will be shown publicly for the first time. There will be an official Groundspeak virtual souvenir automatically displayed on the profile page of each cacher who attends this GIFF event.
The published coords will bring you to the green door of Nafferton Methodist School Room where the event will be held - come on in! To find the event from the street, locate Nafferton Methodist Church on Nafferton High Street and walk down the side of the Church and enter by the green side door (see spoiler photo). The front door of the church won't be open. There's parking on Nafferton High Street and a small car park at the back of the Methodist Church (see photo) which can hold up to 6 or 7 cars (no commercial vehicles, large vans or campervans please as access is narrow and the car park isn't huge). To use the car park please drive slowly along the shared access beside the church and watch out for pedestrians and for vehicles coming the other way.
We have chairs, a TV and a biggish room, and we'll throw the doors open at the Nafferton Methodist Church School Room at 3.15pm. At 3.30pm we'll press Play on the 2019 GIFF entries. The GIFF film reel lasts about an hour so all being well we plan to wrap up at around 4.30pm and close the doors at 4.45pm. There will be an opportunity to swap trackables and tell tall tales before the film reel begins.
Entrance is £1 per adult to pay for room hire and kids are free. All are welcome and the venue has wheelchair access (not accessible for motorised wheelchairs or larger mobility scooters). No pets are allowed inside the School Room except assistance dogs. Bring your own snacks and drinks and note there is a shop nearby if you forget. There are toilets at the venue, including disability friendly.
Please log a Will Attend if you’re pretty certain that you’ll be joining us, so that we can get enough chairs ready. Cachers don't need to sign the event log but will be required to verify their physical attendance before logging the event on Geocaching.com.
