Pont Roma, es quizás una de las evidencias mejor conservadas de la dominación romana en Mallorca que puedes explorar.

En 123 aC, el ejército romano dirigido por el cónsul y general, Quinto Cecilio Metelo, se hizo cargo de Mallorca después de años de lucha contra las Guerras Púnicas (264 – 146 aC).Los romanos establecieron la ciudad de Pollentia, que fue declarada capital de Mallorca. (¡Los restos de Pollentia se pueden visitar en Alcúdia)!El puente romano aquí, era la única manera de cruzar el río, que en ese momento era mucho más amplio.

Pont Roma, is perhaps one of the most well preserved evidences of Roman dominance on Mallorca that you can explore.

Back in 123 BC, the Roman army led by consul and general, Quintus Caecilius Metellus, took over Mallorca after years of fighting the Punic Wars (264 – 146 BC).The Romans established the town of Pollentia, which was declared capital of Mallorca. (The remains of Pollentia can be visited in Alcúdia)!The Roman brigde here, was the only way to cross the river, which at that time was much wider.
