Geocache Description:

17 May 2020, 11:30 - 14:30

You're invited to the LA Geocachers' Happy Trails Community Celebration Event at Griffith Park! Look for us at a picnic table by the Walt Disney Barn (Navigate to 5202 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027, then to GZ, and then look for familiar geocachers/geocaching items).

We'll be here for a couple hours so stop by when you can and for as long as you can. We recommend spending the day enjoying the many things this park has to offer, including the nearby Walt Disney Railroading Legacy Virtual Reward only available on the 3rd Sunday of the month (like  on this day). If you've ever attended the Going A.P.E. Mega-Event, this will be a similar low-key event where we'll serve as a geocaching base camp with the basics (water/drinks, trail snacks/dessert, sunscreen/bug spray, etc.) as well as the Event Log, a place to drop trackables and an opportunity to have lunch and socialize with cachers. Bring Your Own Lunch (BYOL), picnic blanket, chair and anything you need for your comfort. Children under 18 are welcomed with parents. Free parking is available in the nearby parking lots (see waypoints) and along Zoo Drive. The park's free Parkline Shuttle is also available from noon - 10 PM which can take you to the Zoo, Merry-Go-Round, Observatory and more.

NOTE: Nearby restroom facilities are only at the Walt Disney Barn (portable) and Travel Town (on-site).
