Welcome to the 5th Biennial Waukesha Geocaching Road Rally! We will be meeting at the picnic shelter at Frame Park in Waukesha (note the location change). Rain or shine. Event starts at noon, Road Rally teams will start out at 12:30pm. Dinner around 4:30-6:30pm.
Geo-chatting all day long! Come for dinner and to watch other cachers come back in from the rally. ALL are welcome to attend the event and enjoy the food and geo-chat. This year is special as we were awarded a Community Celebration Event. I expect there will be more teams given the rarity of these events and the new icon that can be added to your find count when you attend one.
The road rally is a social gathering, a competitive game. There is a picnic at the park after the rally. As in previous years, wifeyole and me will be supplying hot dogs and brats with all the fixings. We'll start cooking dinner around 4:30pm but feel free to come anytime. Please consider bringing a dish, salad, dessert, etc to pass. Also please bring your own beverages. There are 15 picnic tables at the event, but feel free to bring lawn chairs or a blanket.
Official rally rules will be announced approximately 1 week before the event.
The course will take approximately 4 hours depending on how well you do.
Everyone will be sent out at the same time. New caches will be published AFTER the event. You'll have to find more than caches. There will be challenges to complete and scavenger hunt items and pictures to bring back. Points will be awarded based on your time and what you complete.
Minimum of 3 people and a max of 6 people per team. Please state in your log if you have a team or are looking to join one. If you just want to come for dinner and to watch other cachers come back in from the rally, please state that in your will attend log. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend the event, there is an awesome new all inclusive playground at the park. I would recommend only kids 10 or older on a rally team given the number of stops and getting in and out of the car safely and quickly. You know your children best so ultimately the choice is up to you. ALL are welcome to attend the event and enjoy the food and geo-chat. Again, please bring a potluck food item.
