Geocache Description:
June 13, 2020, 10:30 A.M. - 2:30 P.M.

As many of you know, this year is the 20th anniversary of Geocaching! Geocaching HQ has decided that approximately 20,000 geocachers will have the opportunity to host a Community Celebration Event. Everyone who attends one of these events will also earn a special souvenir. I have been lucky enough to have been chosen to host one!

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL CACHERS, REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG YOU HAVE PARTICIPATED. It is meant to be a celebration of an interest that we all enjoy and one that binds us together as a community. Events are a great place to share stories, learn from others and simply have a good time with one another!

The Girl Guide Building courtyard (1530 Broadway Ave) is where this event will be held. We will start our event with a scavenger hunt. The locations for the scavenger hunt will be available at 10:30 A.M. at the beginning event location.

We will have a BBQ lunch afterwards, with burgers, hot dogs and fixings supplied. If you will be in attendance, it is highly recommended to bring various salads, chips, desserts, or otherwise a tasty treat to share with other members. Please indicate in your log what you will bring. (Also, water will be supplied but otherwise, drinks will not be brought by hosts or other cachers — please provide your own!)

We will be using the courtyard outside for our lunch portion of the event if the weather is nice, so please bring lawn chairs. If, by chance, the weather is not so great, we can use the inside portion of building. It has a large hall with a full kitchen (including a fridge we may use to keep various foods cold).

We would very much appreciate it if people could make a small donation to help cover the costs for the provided food and venue!

Prizes:

We hope to be able to get enough donations to have prizes for the scavenger hunt, as well as possibly some raffle prizes. If anyone has anything they would like to donate or knows of a company or corporation that would be willing to, please contact me.

When logging your “will attends”, please indicate if you will be bringing children as we will have some activities for them!

Thank you! Hope to see you all there!! 😁
