Geocache Description:

29 February 2020, 15:00 - 19:00

Leap Year Campout 2020

Enjoy the lovely New Zealand summer weather while it lasts - it's time we all got together for another campout event!

VENUE: Awhitu Regional Park

(Peninsula Campground)

DATE: 29 February 2020

TIME: 3pm to 7pm

OR: Camp for the whole weekend!

(We will be there Friday to Sunday)

What is there to do at Awhitu?

There are a number of geocaches to find throughout the Awhitu Regional Park, and the wider peninsula area. Get away from the city and enjoy some relaxation time, fresh air, peace and quiet, and of course a few cache finds! There should also be a high tide in the mid afternoon, perfect for a swim.

Enjoy a weekend chilling out and spinning wild tales of geocaching folklore over a BBQ amongst friends!

Camping for the weekend?

Bookings essential: You will need to book through the Awhitu Regional Park website - get in quick and make sure you select the Peninsula Campground. Adults are $16 per night and children $6.50. The website also contains other important details and rules so check them out too. For example, no dogs are allowed in the campground area.

Everyone welcome!

Everyone is welcome to join us for the weekend. If you don't have any camping gear, post a note on the cache page and see if someone else can help out - bound to be someone. Likewise for transport, carpooling is a great idea and it's good for the environment too!
