Planned Maintenance Days and busy days:

In 2020, the Galleries will be closed for scheduled maintainence on Tuesday 7 April and Tuesday 13 October.

Anzac day, 25th April is not an ideal day to pursue the lab cache inside the Shrine. It is a busy day and during certain hours access to the building is restricted to dignitaries and invitees only. The dawn service at 6am is very moving and well worth experiencing though.

Armistice Day, 11th November, is also a busy day at the Shrine.

There are often wreath laying ceremonies at the Shrine, please be respectful if there happens to be one going on while you are in the vicinity.

There is a Last Post Service held on the Shrine Forecourt every Sunday at approximately 4.45pm. The final part of the service, the lowering of the flags, is at 5pm. At the week’s close there is pause to remember those who have served and sacrificed. Veteran representatives attend from across conflicts, from the Second World War onwards.  Those that have served are remembered, as we have always remembered them - now and forever. The Shrine like serving ADF members and veterans to be involved in the weekly Last Post Service, if you are interested contact them to register.
