Leap Day at Lilleshall Monument Event Cache

This event is to celebrate the 29th of February..

February 29th (leap day) is a date added to years which are divisible by 4 and normally the olympic games years.  A leap day is added because of the Earth's period of orbital revolution around the Sun takes approximately 6 hours longer than 365 whole days.  A leap day compensates for this lag and realigns the calendar with the Earths position in the Solar System, otherwise seasons would occur later than intended in the calendar year.
