Community Celebration Event in the Hermitage Community Celebration Event

peedieduchess: Thanks to everyone who attended, it was great to see you all.
Statistics:
27 attended logs, 27 signatures in the giant log book, the humans consumed 64 cakes (greedy lot) and one duggle stole 3; all trackables claimed and accounted for.

Sarah from the Friends group attended but didn’t want to collect any donations from us; instead, as a way of saying thank you to them, I have suggested that we meet here again in early November for a CITO event. Keep a look out for details about this from Danale who will liaise with the Friends about this and finalise the joining instructions.

The Duke and Duchess were delighted to take home so many empty cake tins,

Geocache Description:

12 September 2021, 10:00 - 12:00

The Hermitage

Welcome to the Hermitage of Braid, one of Edinburgh's favourite outdoor places, packed with lovely geocaches!

I'm so sorry that you've had this on your  watch list now for.....16 months! I sincerely hope you have all been safe and well.

With permission from Natural Heritage Scotland, let's meet right ouside their HQ to celebrate the birth of Geocaching as we know it 20 years ago. (although its now 21 years....)

At the venue there are a few benches and picnic tables and it's a good place to start if you want to find some geocaches.

Meet at 10 am, bring your own snack but there will be CAKE (first come first served!)

Please also note that a representative of the Friends of the Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill will be on hand if you would like to ask any questions about the nature reserve; and they would be glad of any donations to help their work with Natural Heritage Scotland. This is entirely voluntary.
