Stonehenge, Devils Head, Black Rock, Ghost River, the Summer Solstice....come out to this haunted place and enjoy some of Alberta's finest scenery along with a hot dog or two....
Near the boundry of Banff National park, located on the edge of the eastern slopes of the Rockies, is the the Ghost River Valley. It is here that we will praise the longest day of the year in 2020. The last kilometer of terrain to the event can be a little difficult in a clearance challenged vehicle, so if you need, park at the given parking coordinates and hitch a ride down into the Ghost Valley and to the event site. At the bottom, you will find a roaring bon-fire, along with the supplies you will need to enjoy a scaraficial hot dog, all in the name of the Summer Solstice!!!
We will supply the hotdogs and condiments. All you will need to bring is a beverage, some campfire snack foods if desired, and your geocaching stories.....
Come to the Ghost and enjoy the longest day of the year!!!
Let us know in your "Will attend" log if you need a ride from the parking coordinates down to the Ghostly Event
Directions to the Parking:
From the 1A highway west of Cochrane, follow the #40 Forestry Trunk road north for approximately 25.5km’s. Turn west on the Ghost River TransAlta dirt road, continue on another 15.5km to the parking area. If you are in a high clearance vehicle, drive down the hill and follow your geosenses to the event.
