Geocache Description:

This whole personal GeoArt thing has been much fun. Indeed, had I known how much fun, I would have done personal GeoArt much sooner. And since it was fun, I needed to expand on the fun. But how to do that? Two single points just wasn't going to do it. Goodness knows a single point cache has already been done, so a second one would show zero imagination. Logically, what would be next? Well, with two points you can define a line, so I am going with "The Line". The reference point listed  was chosen because it was likewise artistic and by using it and the previous point on "The Point", you get an artistic line, exactly 500 meters long (or half a kilometer for those not metric saavy). A line that long should be visible from the International Space Station except that lines do not have any width; they only have length. It will have to be "apparently visible" when you look at the map.

There is no cache at the referenced coordinates.  If there is a cache at the posted coordinates, I will attest that I DID NOT put it there and indeed was unaware if its existence when I did this one. You can go there and search if it makes you happy but it likely will not do you any good. Plus the area is rather overgrown and without trails. You need to solve the puzzle, all of which is below.

But on the really good side for me personally, my imaginary friends are back!! With the current situation, we had not been out caching, so I have not spoken with them for a while. They are all well.

No sooner had the previous GeoArt cache been published when my imaginary friend, Hoot, got in touch with me and suggested a companion cache. Apparently he was perturbed because it took him a few minutes to solve it while it took the twins, Denny and Knox, "mere milliseconds" as they put it. "Those kids,", said Hoot, "They can do some stuff in their heads but couldn't use a slide rule to save their lives." I think he complains too much, although using a slide rule is a useful skill to have. Hoot enclosed the puzzle below in the hopes that he could help us all in these trying times. For a dinosaur like me, I could see a certain elegance in it.

There are several ways to solve this one. Some are faster than others. All of them should get you to the same place (i.e. to the cache.) There are a number of appropriate websites out there if you look. There is software you can download, much of it very good. There is software you can buy, but the free stuff is a much better play value. There are a couple of other ways to solve this, but if I told you what they were, it would give away too much. I will say that it CAN be done with a pencil and paper but it will probably take you a looooong time. Anything else is left as an exercise for the reader.

The container is a micro. There is not a lot of room for much in it. You will need to bring a writing instrument of some sort. It is hidden in a fairly standard spot for this type of container. Some camo was used to keep things interesting. But not much.

There is parking nearby. The locations should be obvious after consultation with a map or when you get into the vicinity. If not, feel free to drop me a note.

Once again, for those of you who already have one or more FTFs, if you could please wait 24 hours after publication, we can all share the FTF wealth. Once the log is written to the first time, all bets are off. I cannot enforce that request but I will ask nicely. And if it were not my cache, I would have to wait also.

Since this is a Northern Virginia cache, the standard verbiage applies: heed all signs, try not to give too much detail in your log, and don't think about elephants.
