[LV]

Viena no pirmajām picērijām tiek atklāta 1988.gadā Ādažos.

Pizza appeared on Latvian menus at the end of the eighties after the fall of the Iron curtain. One of the first pizzerias opened in Ādaži in 1988.

The building where the pizzeria was located, was built in 45 days by a Latvian-Yugoslavian company called Smelt.

Visitors could order cold and hot dishes, five varieties of pizzas, grilled chicken and sandwiches and of course ice cream and drinks. The vast majority of food was made by Latvian chiefs using Yugoslavian recipes. The restaurant was very popular and always full. To book a table one had to have friends who worked at the restaurant. In the building, which was designed by Latvian and Yugoslavian architects, tables were located in half-isolated rooms, which, together with luxurious curtains, soft chairs and candle light, created an intimate atmosphere. Families visited the pizzeria during celebrations, such as on the 1st of September. Pizza fillings were delicious and even the biggest skeptics were not left indifferent. People's appetite was stimulated by the atmosphere of the place and the exotic nature of food presented.

The pizzeria delighted its visitors until 2003. Currently the Pizzeria building is occupied by a game room.
