Geocache Description:

01 March 2021, 16:00 - 17:00

This "under-utilized" area is ideal for 'urban explorers" and other folks seeking private adventures.  Sadly, this too-long-ignored area has two issues that we hope to address:  1.  There is a great deal of trash that gets dropped, thrown, blown, or left around and along the ditches, trails, and fringe areas, and 2. there are too few "interesting things" hiding in this mixed ecological habitat.

Here's a great opportunity to show our love for Gainesville, geocaching, our friends and neighbors, and Planet Earth.

It's also a chance to get a souvenir and a MOST coveted icon being offered by Groundspeak for those who participate and post a photo (see the newsletter from 19 Jan 21 about "GC8NEAT").  IN ADDITION there will be some "rewards" for those who accomplish certain goals / tasks.

There is plenty for anyone and everyone to do.  It is recommended that you wear long trousers / jeans, bring bug spray, gloves, and a grabber.  Heavy-duty bags and water will be provided.

SPECIAL NOTE:  The "terrain" rating IS correct for those of you who tackle some of the more aggressive tasks, and takes into account the possibility of the dtiches having water.  They were dry today, but the sides are still quite steep, with many trip hazards.
