Please join us on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for our GEOCKY CITO along our Adopt a Highway designated route on Leestown Road.
PLEASE NOTE: We will be following the Governor's Healthy at Work updated guideline requirements for social distancing and recommended mask wearing for outdoor events: Entities must encourage all persons to wear a face covering to the fullest extent practicable whenever in a public space in the presence of other person(s) not from the same family/household. Hand sanitizer will also be available for use. The updated guidelines can be located here - https://chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dph/covid19/HAWMinimumRequirements.pdf
We are required to hold several events during the year in order to keep our GEOCKY oganization Adopt a Highway signs up on both ends of our designated clean up route on Leestown Road in Lexington. This requirement was suspended by DOT during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places.
We will park and meet at 9:00 a.m. at the given coordinates, located just inside Masterson Station Park. We have a few giveaways and also have recycling rubber ducks!
After a safety briefing we will split into teams and begin the task of picking up litter along Leestown Road.
Be sure to bring your own gloves and dress accordingly for the weather. Bottled water, snacks and trash bags will be provided. If you cannot make it there by 9:00 a.m. feel free to join us and pitch in as soon as you can.
Please try to arrive a bit early in case there is a delay getting into the park with traffic due to possible scheduled events.
