TOTU: Trails of the Unconfirmed!

This cache is one stop on a circuit that leads you around about 8 miles of Romney Marsh, taking in Brookland, Brenzett and Snargate. Along the way you will see a number of irregation sewers, farms, churches numerous fields, footpaths and tracks. Ideally you will need to start from Brookland and follow the series from there. The walk has been set up to follow a clockwise direction due with the inclusion of a number of multi caches. There is a parking waypoint marked at Brookland village hall with room for multiple cars. 

The route is primarily along well warn footpaths, but please be aware that you will be out in the marshlands and some sections may become overgrown during some seasons. There are several stiles to cross and field boundaries to follow. I would recommend long trousers and good footwear. Taking some gloves might also be a good idea as the stingers and the thorns in the area can be quite vicious!

If parking at the suggested location you will need to cross the A259 to begin the series. The road is busy and traffic moves fast so please be careful. There are also two points in the circuit where you will need to cross the B2080 which should also be approached with the appropriate caution. Parts of the series follow sections along quiet lanes so be aware of vehicles... and if you find yourself in a field please watch out for machinery and livestock! Along the way you will find yourself crossing railway tracks during the route so again please be careful. No caches are hidden on railway property so don't be tempted to search there.

I would not recommend walking this series after dark. The marsh can be an unforgiving place. Deep, water filled ditches among other hazards are waiting anyone who strays too far from the footpath.
