Happy 20th Birthday, The Buck Stops Here Cache!

March 27 2021 A celebration of Geocaching and to acknowledge the oldest active Geocache placed in North Dakota. The Oldest cache in North Dakota (GC551 The Buck Stops Here!), will be turning 20 years old. NDGCA (North Dakota GeoCaching Association) will celebrate this historic event for geocaching in North Dakota! We will be celebrating all things geocaching. Come join us for some fun & socializing. There will even be CAKE!
On May 1, 2000 then President William Jefferson Clinton gave the go ahead for GPS SA (selective availability that scrambled the satellite signals) to be turned off allowing civilians access to the same GPS signal accuracy as the military had.
On May 3, 2000, just three days later, the outdoor hobby known as GEOCACHING was first established somewhere in Oregon USA. (coordinates are available at Geocaching.com). Less than a year later on March 25, 2001 a Geocache location was published GC551 and a container was placed in North Dakota and is currently the oldest active Geocache in our state.
On Saturday March 27 2021 NDGCA North Dakota Geocaching Association is hosting this event to celebrate the milestone and the original Cache hider and twenty plus years of Geocaching in the world.
