THE COORDINATES ABOVE ARE FOR RAINIER MESA! DON'T TRY TO GO THERE. IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NEVADA TEST SITE!
This VIRTUAL CACHE will hopefully be fun, educational and a bit challenging.
Earn a 'FIND' and learn more about the Silver State by finding the following information about Nevada's State Symbols. All you have to do is some research, some leg/camera work, and EMAIL THE ANSWERS DIRECTLY TO ME while posting a few pictures with descriptions and coordinates in your log.
DO NOT PUT ANY ANSWERS IN YOUR LOGS!!!! only post the UNNAMED pictures and their GPS coordinates/description of where found, and any other comments you'd like to make that are not spoilers.
Any log that contains answers will be deleted until it can be re-posted correctly.

PART ONE:
Find the answers to these 13 state symbols:
What is the Nevada State:
1. Animal
2. Metal
3. Tree (there are two)
4. Bird
5. Gem
6. Semi-Precious Gemstone
7. Reptile
8. Fossil
9. Flower
10. Rock
11. Grass
12. Artifact
13. Colors
Remember, you must EMAIL these answers to me, do not put in your posted log.
Also, you must take a PICTURE of ONE of the above symbols, of the actual object, not a picture of a picture. Post this picture with a description of where found and the GPS location. DO NOT NAME IT IN THE PICTURE!
Although some of these may be rarer to find than others, I am hoping that some of us intrepid geocachers will be up to the challenge of providing a variety of pictures of these different symbols....it would be fun to eventually have pictures of all twelve!
PART 2:
The Nevada State Flag:
Take a picture of the NV Flag (actual Flag, not a picture, plaque or sign) and post it in your log with a description of where it is and the GPS coordinates. Then EMAIL to me the answers to the following three questions:
How many official flags have been approved?
What year was the new design adopted?
Who did the basic design for the current flag?
PART 3:
The Nevada State Seal:
Take a picture of the NV State Seal and post it in your log with a description of where it is and the GPS coordinates.
Please follow the directions carefully and enjoy this 'treasure hunt'. All photos must be original photos taken by you for this cache, not internet downloads or old vacation snap shots!
Only one "FIND" per geocacher please. Please use a different location for the flag and seal photos than the ones posted by previous finders.
