This recipe is read by Daya/Manpreet and taken from the book Saheli Kitchen: Authentic, Easy-toCook Recipes From Asia, published in 1992 by the Saheli Writers. The Saheli Women's Group is an intergenerational community group based in Kent, founded by Daya Kans in the early 90s. They began by self publishing books containing testimonies from 1st and 2nd generation South Asian women living in Kent. Today they run a roster of classes and events that keep a community thriving and cultural practices such as traditional song and dance alive.
