We have all heard the saying the early bird gets the worm. It means to arrive early to something, that may help a person seize an opportunity that they might otherwise miss out on.
There is another expression: the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. These events are dedicated to the mice who choose to sleep in a little longer, before arriving for their breakfast.
Back in Adelaide, we used to have regular early bird geocaching events scheduled for 6:00 a.m., and some were as early as 5:30 a.m. Perhaps the early mornings are more normal to Queenslanders who aren't used to daylight savings? Consequently, this event series attempted to have a few events at more civilised hours.
In addition, I guess I should I introduce myself. A few months ago, I moved from SA to become a permanent Brisbanite. I actually started geocaching when I was previously living in Brisbane for four years from 2010-2014, but then returned back to Adelaide with work. It seems that the Sunshine State had me return. I have met a few Geocachers in the South-Eastern Queensland community, but I thought it would be great to schedule a separate meet and greet event. Hence, this event can serve that purpose too, and so I am hoping to meet a few more Geocachers from the community.
So, come and enjoy an early-ish morning geo-chat with buddies:
