Geocache Description:

The difficulty rating of 4 is just for getting to Tibet. If you've gotten this far, you shouldn't find the terrain very difficult, though the altitude is a little over 5100 m.

On a clear day you can see Mt. Everest, and there's an enjoyable walk between base camp and Romphu monastery.

The cache is a lock-n-lock container hidden under a boulder on a small hill near the road. A pile of rocks shown in the photo marked the spot next to the hide. Our original measured coordinates were N28 9.387 E86 50.891. I've updated the coordinates above to those posted by Chris Kletterlemmi, the FTF after 2.5 years! I've learned that Kletterlemmi died on July 16, 2005 in a climbing accident on the mountain Dent D'Herens (4171m) in Italy, 4 days before he reached his 32-nd birthday.

Enjoy the area!
