Geocache Description:

THIS IS A FIELD PUZZLE - Difficulty rating for the field puzzle, not the hiding spot.

This is the sixth cache in a series based on our family’s love of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series.

This cache is dedicated to Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, Architecture and warfare (but really weren’t they all), grower of olive trees, to the misery of her Uncle Poseidon, and proud mother of Annabeth Chase, though she has disapproving thoughts on young Annabeth’s dating life.

The cache host itself should be easy enough to find. Just look for a home for her dear pet Bubo the Owl at about adult eye level in a tree. Accessing the log, however, will take a fair amount of thinking. No brute strength please, just the power of your mind is necessary to decipher the code. After all, Athena was responsible for the Ceaser Shift, the Voynich Manuscript, the Vigeneri Square, the Enigma Machine and the Kryptos cypher, right up the road a ways at Langley.

This one may not be as hard as any of those, but it also might be a bit trickier than you think when you first see it. Just make sure you are reading the inside of the door.
