Off-Grid is a straightforward series of 13 traditional caches in Lodge Farm Woods, which lie to the North West of Limerigg village. The area is a network of mixed woods with well defined paths. It is not overly used by walkers, so it's pleasantly quiet. The woods are managed by Woodland Trust, and extend to 120 acres, including some open grasslands and wildflowers. It's a good site for insects and birds. Areas of the woods incorporate some of the mineral railways that existed around Slamannan, Limerigg and Binniehill. Miners Rows once existed along the line of the current Binniehill Road. which divides the two sections of the woods.
Some areas of the woods have poor mobile reception, hence the series title. It will be easiest to do the series with a GPS device as a back up for the parts where mobile reception fails. So you may want to download the caches and maps to your GPS beforehand.
The series is intended to be a straightforward cache trail, in a woodland area where there have not been many caches previously. The caches are all traditionals, with standard containers and low to moderate difficulty. Terrain is mixed as most of the hides are a dozen yards or more off path, and it can be a bit muddy certain times of year. There is no livestock in the area, but it is used by local horse riders and dog walkers. You will not need to climb any fences or enter any farmer's fields to do these caches.
3 parking places have been provided for the series. They are all added as waypoints on the cache in the series: GC9DQ33.
