Geocache Description:

11 December 2021, 19:00 - 23:00

We can finally get together!!!

I am so very relieved as I miss all of you awesome geocaching friends and miss meeting new geocachers too! I very much took pride in volunteering as Event Coordinator for the MBGA for over three years in the past, only stopping as I needed to focus on Legal Assistant studies at RRC. It was unfortunate that I never made it back to help on the board after as life got in the way. However, I am excited to advise that I will be getting more involved in the geocaching community going forward, as it will allow me to teach and spread awareness regarding the Metis culture in Manitoba.

Currently, I have been learning about Indigenous Knowledge & Leadership, Foundations of Social Innovation, and Project Management, among other classes in Social Innovation & Community Development at RRC Polytech. First semester ends the day before this event so I have invited my classmates, most of whom have yet to meet as we have all been learning online! Furthermore, my Basic Project Management instructor is retiring so we are the last class David Beaudin will be teaching in our program! For this reason, I felt it strongly necessary to encourage those in our class to come celebrate his retirement. (He has already accepted his invite and will have a table reserved for him and a few guests.)

I have also started being involved with the most active Metis group in Winnipeg, according to my instructor as he had helped me become aware of their opportunities. When I saw Kinew Metis Council had jigging classes available on Thursday evenings, I wasted no time signing up. I have always loved dancing to the groove of the music! This weekly class has been so fun and very good for my spirit, freeing my soul from the weight it carries, not to mention a great work out for cardio! While thinking on this, I realized I absolutely needed to invite my instructor to provide an introductory lesson at my party! I have also invited my dance classmates to join.
