Geocache Description:

This Hans Knorr sculpture has returned to its home outside the Government Centre Offices on Ovens Street after months of restoration work to conserve it to its former glory. Hans Knorr (1915-1988) trained as a cabinet maker in Germany, was interned in Victoria during World War 2, married Hilde Dent in 1948 and decided to stay in Australia, where he won world wide acclaim as a sculptor. 'Wave out of the Deep' was created more than 40 years ago from a magnificent piece of red gum wood. Time, weather and termites had taken their toll and urgent work was needed to preserve it. Two local restoration experts, Dean Godde and Quentin Pfahlert, have spent in excess of six months working on repairing the sculpture. Now it is back in place and worthy of a Virtual for all to enjoy and admire.

To log this Virtual send the answer to the question below to the CO. (Do not write the answer in your log)
