THE HUNT STARTS AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. THEY ARE NOT THE FINAL GEOCACHE LOCATION.
This is the seventh cache in a series based on our family’s love of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series, and is a tribute to Artemis, Goddess of the hunt, the moon, and maidenhood, leader of The Hunters, a gang of ladies not to be trifled with, and twin sister to Apollo, though she seems to have a better understanding than the of the mortals in her realm.
She is constantly searching for hunters worthy of joining her ranks, and feels that geocachers are among the best, though she doesn’t trust those who rely only on their GPS skills. She seeks those who can orient their way using the stars, the wind…. perhaps a compass.
She has hidden an arrow, in a specially-made quiver, somewhere in the forests of Fairfax, and though she placed it near a stream that reflects the stars of her hunters past, it is advised that you look for this one in the daytime.
Just finding the arrow, however, will not be enough to sign the log and apply to join her hunt, you must also find the three targets along the way, and note the numbers on the back in order to “unlock” the secrets of her lost arrow. When you have completed your task, make sure to re-lock the arrow, and put it back into its quiver for the next hunter.
Good luck, and may something in your tools of the trade bag always point north.
