Muster by the Mountain
The area
Sitting around 473 metres above sea level, Mount Everard is located on the southern slopes of the Great Dividing Range within the traditional land of the Wurundjeri people. The mountain sits inside Kinglake National Park, the largest national park close to Melbourne. In 2009, almost all of the park was burnt in the catastrophic Black Saturday bushfires. Around Mount Everard, the bushfire intensity is likely to have a permanent effect on the vegetation and forest structure.
