Alyssa Mikko DiPasquale

A certified Advanced Sake Professional and all-out sake lover, Alyssa Mikko DiPasquale dreamed of opened the first bar in Boston dedicated exclusively to the rice-based beverage. While technically not a chef, DiPasquale contributes to the Boston food scene by educating people about sake in the same way a sommelier educates people about wines.

DiPasquale fostered her passion for sake for over a decade at the famed O Ya restaurant. Then she created the Koji Club which can best be explained as a wine bar for sake. The name “koji” come from one of four ingredients in sake: water, rice, yeast, and koji which is a Japanese fermentation culture.
