A love letter to letterbox hybrids
Letterbox Hybrid caches are one of the least hidden cache types. There are only 41 letterbox hybrids active in Michigan that were hidden in 2022.
During this event, we will look at how to hide a high quality Letterbox Hybrid. It is more than just a stamp, though a stamp is necessary.
In your will attend log, I invite you to post GC codes of Letterbox Hybrids that you think are interesting, unique, well done, fun, etc.
We will then spend time during the event looking at:
-The basics of what a CO needs to hide a Letterbox Hybrid.
-Special considerations of the GC guidelines and how they relate to Letterbox Hybrids specifically (land permission, hours of access, stamps).
-Choosing a container (is bigger or smaller better?).
-How to properly rate, label, and identify your Letterbox Hybrid.
-Is this just a traditional with a stamp?
-Field testing your Letterbox Hybrid.
-Durability (will the container keep the contents dry, is the stamp properly labeled so it does not look like swag).
All attendees to the event will hopefully leave with the knowledge and confidence to hide a high quality Letterbox Hybrid. They will also be given a stamp to get them thinking about creating a Letterbox Hybrid of their own.
