Welcome to Oceana County the home of Asparagus in Michigan. In fact, we grow so much of it here it seems like it grows on trees. Really? Sure. Just figure out which of these statements is true and we'll tell you where you can find asparagus in a tree.
When picking Asparagus you'll need a least a stepladder and maybe an extension ladder if you want to get the really good stuff. N 43 48.792 W 086 13.514
When picking Asparagus no ladder is required. In fact it's quite the opposite as you'll be working very close to the ground. N 43 48.297 W 086 13.415
Notes About the Series:
Coming into here on East River Rd. off 126th Ave. is the best way in. 126th Ave. is closed just north of here as the bridge is out. Another good way in is 156th Ave. north off of E. Madison Rd.
When you do get here:
This cache is at the western end of FS 5011. You'll require a high clearance vehicle and 4WD or AWD to get down this road aka no cars. You've been warned. If you come down here anyway let us know so we can return your plastic car bits to you later if you somehow manage to get out. Some maps call this FS 5314 or Fire Lane 5314. It's not. That's the road had you taken the right fork. It's a piece of cake.
FS 5314 aka Fire Lane 5314 aka Jefferson Rd. is easily traveled in a car.
148th and 156th Ave. are easily traveled in a car.
FS 6132 is OK in a car.
FS 6122, FS 6123, and FS 6124 require a high clearance vehicle with 4WD or AWD.
Don't even think about going down FS 6079 in a car. It will swallow it whole.
