Geocache Description:

Welcome to Rhono's 'Monster Series'!
Monsters, Legends, Cryptozoology & some Villains!

*Please recover/rehide well!
*If you start this short hike from the South, it brings you through a "cypress tunnel" and out to the dunes! - Totally worth it!

Beware the Mummy’s curse!

Believe what you want about curses, but EVERYONE who was present during the opening of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1923 is now dead!
Discover on November 4, 1922, the tomb was historically important because of not only the story of the “boy king” and its great wealth inside but also because of the warning found at the entrance!

"Death shall come on swift wings to he who enters the tomb of the pharaoh."

Lord Carnarvon, who had funded the search for King Tut's tomb, archaeologist Howard Carter, and 24 others entered the king's burial chamber on February 17, 1923. On or about March 6, Lord Carnarvon was bitten by a mosquito on his cheek and became very ill. (“Swift wings”…) The mosquito bite became infected and he developed pneumonia.
Lord Carnarvon died on April 5, 2023.

Of the 26 people present at the opening of the burial chamber, only 6 had died within 10 years of its discovery…!
