Geocache Description:

10 years of geocaching

A very nice park: the highlight of my trip to Cedar Rapids.
This cache is dedicated to ALL veterans,
on Veteran's Day 2002.

Located on 12th Street SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The eight segments include treed alcoves with seating. A serene environment was created where visitors can reflect on the past, remembering the pleasant and sometimes unpleasant memories that have defined the history of the Armed Services.

It is dedicated to all the men and women who have served in the Armed Services.

We honor those who have endowed our country's freedom through their sacrifice and contributions:

To the veterans who served honorably in ready defense of these United States;

To the young patriots who traveled to foreign lands and endured the brutality of war;

To the families who bid them farewell and kept the home light burning;

To the volunteers who provided aid and comfort to our armed forces;

To the men and women who shall forever bear the scars of combat; and

To our fallen brethren, never to return, who can give no more.

The price of freedom is never free.........

PLEASE NOTE THE GC.COM RULE THAT THE PHYSICAL SITE OF A VIRTUAL CACHE MUST BE VISITED IN ORDER TO LOG THE FIND. I had to delete logs from people who almost certainly did not visit the physical site. I will continue to check each log to verify that the finder appears to have visited the physical site, and if it is highly likely that you did not, your log will be deleted, even if you answer the question correctly. In order to have a fair playing field, everybody in the game needs to follow the same rules.
