Geocache Description:

Each year since 1948, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awards approximately 200 awards known as Emmys. Locate an Emmy and tell a little bit about its history.

The four pound 12 ounce statuette stands 16" tall and is made of copper, nickel, silver and gold. Each one takes five and a half hours to make, at a cost of about $200. The wings represent the muse of art, and the atom the electron of science.

The following rules apply to logging a find for this cache:

One log per user, and each statuette may used only once.

The Emmy must be on permanent public display.

Each log must include a photo of the statuette with GPSr and a photo of either the inscription or a display sign including the name of the recipient, award category, and year.

The log must include the location where the Emmy is currently being displayed.

The Emmy included as an example is on display at the Bob Hope exhibit at the United States Air Force Museum near Dayton, Ohio. It was awarded for the 1966 Bob Hope Christmas Special in the Outstanding Variety Special category.
