This Dam Good Cache is about 800 m away from the Bearspaw Dam parking lot (N 51 06.216 W 114 15.841 elev. 1080 m). A short walk along a paved path (with little elevation change)along the beautiful Bow River brings you close to the cache. The very last part of the walk is a few metres through some sparse bush.
This cache has a bit of history. My friends (Matthew, Daniel, Brent and Michael) and I hid this cache (our very first) right on Bearspaw Dam for my twelfth birthday party, but then found out that we couldn't. Because of fears raised by September 11, no one is allowed to hide a cache on a dam without permission from the authorities. So Matthew and I moved the cache to its current location rather than go through all that hassle. If you've never seen the dam before, please make the 500 m walk to the end of the road.
We had tons of fun hiding the cache, and we hope you have as much fun looking for it. The cache container is a small, black, plastic toolbox. The original contents of the cache were: a log book and pencils, a toy cap bomb, silly putty, a sticky mouse, a glowstick , a South Park Cartman figure and a camera (please take a picture of yourselves so we can see who's found our cache.)
There is also a cute, squishy piggy who wants to travel east to Sarnia Ontario to visit my Nana and Nono (Grandma and Grandpa). So if you're heading to a cache east of here, please take piggy along. Don't "hog" piggy too long or hug her too hard or she might burst. Please contact me through this site to tell me what you think of our cache and to update us on piggy's progress.
