MAGIC MAKER, the newest idea for a new souvenir, inspired me to host this event. Now hopefully this event will get more people interested in trying to be more creative and put together quality caches. Of course, if that happens, we all win!
At this event we are going to cover a few items:
- Cache Quality
- Cache Placement
- Gadget Caches (Do people really like them?)
- Round Table discussion
- Play Time!
CACHE QUALITY - Our area has a number of cachers who hide quality caches. We'll take a look at some of the highly favorited caches our area has to offer, and discuss the reasons why we think they attract so much attention. Those caches are GLC is NUTS! (GCA2GFN), Circling the Globe (GC14J6T), Charter 2028 (GC5TH4E), and MOGA Geoart Chevy Blazer (GCA2GBK).
CACHE PLACEMENT - People often wonder if they are "allowed" to put a cache in a certain spot. We will talk about when permission is usually required, and when it isn't.
ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION - Open to any cachers that would like to contribute. Do you have a cache you want to test out? Do you need answers to any questions? This is where we open the discussion to talk about anything from tethering options to puzzle building to geoart and anything in between. If all goes according to the current plan, we will have two gentlemen in attendance who have built some pretty amazing caches to offer advice, tips and more.
PLAY TIME - I will be bringing a couple never released gadget caches with me along with GLC is Nuts! (GCA2GFN), Adding to the Puzzle Theme (GCA2GFS), Home Tweet Home (GCA2GKG), Holy Reverend O. Lee (GCA48ZR), No Man's Land (GCA2GF8; archived), and My Big Backyard (GC12GDW; archived but received 46 favorite points in just two days!).
We will meet IN THE BACK ROOM at 9:30 am at LEO'S CONEY ISLAND on M-15 in Davison (near the posted coordinates). They have great breakfasts if you're hungry and their coffee is pretty good too. Or just come and hang out. Either way works for me. Stay as long as you can. Going to be a pretty relaxed forum. Hope to see you all there.
