The SideTracked series of geocaches are fairly easy to find caches which can be found at or near train stations, ex-train stations or near miniature railways. The first SideTracked geocache was placed at Evesham, about 50km south of Birmingham in the UK, on the 10th August, 2007.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of the beginning of the SideTracked Series. There are currently 4942 Caches and 739243 Found Logs, 48779 Did Not Finds and 4029 Cachers attending Events in the database. SideTracked caches are placed in 34 different countries, such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Belgium, France, Russia, South Africa, Israel, United Arab Emirates and in Zimbabwe.
To help celebrate this milestone, come along and join me and other fellow cachers at a very appropriate location where we'll raise a glass (or two) to toast this great geocaching series.

When: Thursday, 10th August, 2023
Time: 6.00pm to 7.00pm
Venue: Hornsby Railway Hotel, Station St, Hornsby
Parking: A large commuter carpark is located on the eastern side of Hornsby Station. Another carpark is located on the western side behind the shops (see parking waypoints). Parking may also be available in local streets around the hotel.
Where to find us: We will be located in one of the bar areas. Just look for my Geocaching Logo sign.
Catering: A bar is available for refreshments. After the event, if you would like to kick on, there is a bistro where meals can be purchased.
Unfortunately, there is no official Groundspeak souvenir available for attending a SideTracked Day event. However, attendance at this event will allow you to add a unique SideTracked Day badge to your Geocaching Profile similar to the one below. Stay tuned for more details.
