Since Spider was not a huge fan of long drawn out, complicated puzzle caches,
and enjoyed the simple caches that would help him as he sought to increase his numbers,
this cache is a PandD (Puzzle and Dash)

Find the IMSpider link on the page,
and you will find a log with a date and a milestone number to enter into the checker.
Enter the numbers minus any symbols. Example: 1/1/12 #10,000 (becomes: 111210000)
Remember to enter exactly as written do NOT add extra digits to make it computer friendly.

Not a requirement, but when you find the cache, if you knew IMSpider,
share a fun memory you had caching with him, or a time you ran into him at an event, or when hunting an FTF! Spider was not short, and although I am, you will find the cache at his height not mine. And yes, I can reach it so, put it back where I placed it. Thank you!

This cache has been placed in memory of IMSpider. Anyone who has been geocaching in the Tri-State area of Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania will be familiar with his name as you come across many logs with that traditional red IMSpider stamp (and don't forget his quirky 6 legged spider). Even the FTF Hounds of the area would sometimes find his name already there before them... He was an inspiration to many cachers for different reasons. To some it was because of his shear number of caches found, to others it was because of his many travels, and for some people, like me, it was because of the profound effect he had on their lives by being the wonderful person he was!

I remember meeting him at an event one time down in Delaware, he was like a numbers God to me just a baby cacher with less than 1K finds at the time; I would occasionally run into him here or there while out caching, always thinking how amazing it was that he had found so many caches and how nice he always was when our paths crossed. Then, I had the opportunity to cache with him when he invited me along one time. He really knew how to be productive when finding caches and I learned to be faster, haha.

Being a short person, occasionally his long spidery legs would find me running to catch up (and that's considering many people think I walk as fast as I talk, ha, that's a Californian for ya), but mostly it was his caching effeciency skills I needed to learn. While caching with him I also discovered what a wonderful and kind person he was as he shared stories of his children, grandchildren, how he came to live in Delaware from New Jersey, and how he earned his nickname Spider. I thought it was really cool that even his family and friends called him Spider, not just the geocaching community. Over the years, I had frequent chances to cache with him. Sometimes just him and other times with several of us, often with Spider at the helm of the cachemobile. I know Spider was unique in that he found so many caches, but what some people don't know is that he actually read cache pages (so many people do not), his logs would sometimes combine the information on the cache page, or say something that related showing what a kind heart he had, that desipte having to log many caches after spending the day finding them, he still took the time to make the logs personal, often with his unique wit thrown in!

I will miss the 2 am wakeup calls to head down to Delaware to meet up with him at 4 am to start our caching day, the long trips we would take that sometimes meant overnight stays, and randomly running in to him even when we weren't caching together, even as far away as Georgia! I will miss our annual April Birthday exchanges since our birthdays were only 5 days apart, our Christmas phone tag and texts sprinkled in here or there, but most of all I will miss the man that had more kindness than any person could imagine. I am so fortunate to have known Spider, it was an honor and privlege and he will truly be missed.

While the following links are not a part of this puzzle, they are active caches as of the date this one was placed. Both are in New Jersey. One cache has some historical data about IMSpider that you may wish to visit, and the second cache is one he placed and is his final resting place. I debated about listing the second one because Spider always kept his private life separate from his caching life, and was one of the few who also respected the same for me, but as there has been connections to him now, I hope that if you find yourself in northern Jersey you might give him a visit.

Note: The coordinates were taken on multiple days across a few weeks time during different times/weather with a Garmin 650 GPSr. No matter how good your phone or GPSr is, the readings can be different across different devices, at different times of the day, and different weather conditions. That said, there is an image of the cache container, soooooo... even if your device brings you to "not the location" you should be able to figure it out from the hint and the picture. Happy Caching!
