One of many thousands of pubs that have in the eras of time, passed away, just leaving memories. The Rising Sun is still on site in name only, but is now two houses. Like most country pubs, it was basically just a beer house, aka Alehouse, and whilst scant history is known of it, the place was certainly open in 1866. It is recorded as closing in the 1950,s although, as a youngster living in Bourton, I can remember it open probably as late as 1961 as I used to cycle over there and to the nearby youth club - but of course, not in the pub!!
The cache is not at the co-ords, but is a short walk or drive away. You will first have to distance your self and find the following :
A = ST, B = W, C = B, D = G, E = BW
The cache can be found by working out the following co-ordinates
N51 0(E).(B+C)(B+C+E)(B-C) W002 20.((Ax2)+C)(Ex4)(B-D)
Checksum = 42

The “Last Orders Please” series of Geocaches has been started by me, Dave Thomas who has the Geocache name LCVreg. It is aimed for the increasingly vast amount of Pubs/Hotels/Cider Houses and the like that have sadly closed over the years. If you would like to add to the series, then please email me on LCVreg@aol.com when your cache has been published and I will then allocate a number. Hopefully, a list of stats and the like will be published in time as long as you all support it!!!
