Celebrating 10 years of geocaching on my Geo- anniversary!
When: October 5th, 2023 (Thursday)
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
Where: John Wilson Park. Athens, Michigan
- We will meet in a pavillion that isn't being used so you may have to use your geo-senses and look for the crowd. There are three pavillions at the park.
- Simple mid-week meet and greet. There should be some new caches in the area for you to hunt as well. If you are inclined to hide a few celebratory hides that would be incredible.
I look forward to seeing caching friends and new faces are always welcome!
History: I started geocaching 10 years ago on October 5th, 2013. The first geocache I claimed was GC2T9BA Those Who Served placed by HIKAMTN. This cache has since been archived but was only about .5 miles from this park. That hide would fuel the fire to keep me following a GPS to more and more. This hide would also later lead to an amazing friendship with that CO. I've been hiking, biking, kayaking, trekking through a swamp and camping with the cache owner who placed that first cache. It is an honor and of great joy to return to Athens, Michigan to celebrate 10 years of geocaching.
Hope to see you there!
